Terms of Service
Welcome to Foresaw.app (the “Service”), a small, independently-run project provided for fun and free of charge. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
1. Use of the Service
The Service allows users to create, seal, and later access time-locked notes (“Vaults”). You are responsible for ensuring that any content you create or store complies with applicable laws and these Terms.
You agree not to use the Service:
- For any unlawful purpose
- To store or transmit harmful, abusive, or malicious content
- To interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- To attempt unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service, and to remove any Vault, at our sole discretion if these Terms are violated.
2. User Content
You retain ownership of all Vaults you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
Once a Vault is sealed, it cannot be edited or altered. This functionality is intentional and irreversible.
You acknowledge that lost passkeys cannot be recovered and that inaccessible Vaults cannot be restored.
3. No Guarantees
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, free of charge, with no obligation to maintain, support, or continue operating it. We do not guarantee that:
- Vaults will always be accessible
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Any specific outcome will result from the use of the Service
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access, or loss resulting from forgotten passkeys.
Your use of the Service is at your own risk. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid to use the Service, which is zero, as the Service is provided free of charge.
5. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Foresaw.app and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, the content of your Vaults, or your violation of these Terms.
6. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of legal consent for data processing in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
7. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use Foresaw.app (the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service, which may include:
- Account information (such as email address, if applicable)
- Encrypted Vault data
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type, and device information
- Data stored locally in your browser (such as local storage or session storage), used to cache Vault data and estimate server time. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
We do not sell personal data.
2. Vaults and Encryption
Vaults created with a custom passkey are encrypted using that passkey, and we do not have access to it. If a passkey is lost, the associated Vault cannot be recovered.
Vaults created without a custom passkey are still encrypted for storage purposes, but using a default key built into the Service rather than a secret only you know. Those Vaults are not private — anyone with the link can view them once unlocked.
We cannot read the contents of passkey-protected Vaults.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Ensure security and prevent abuse
- Improve performance and reliability
We do not use your Vaults for advertising or profiling.
4. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to operate the Service or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account where applicable, subject to technical limitations of sealed Vaults.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third-party infrastructure providers. These providers process data only as required to deliver the Service and are subject to their own privacy policies.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Requests can be made by contacting us at hello@foresaw.app.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted.
